If you are someone out there who is desperately trying to connect their Google Nest Wifi Pro to your cable modem, then this is what I figured after spending hours and hours. I hope that it’s the recipe I can use when for some reason my Nest Wifi Pro stops working.
The operation couldn’t be completed. (com.google.CastFramework.SetupLib.Cas tSetupError error 14.)
The algorithm
- Go to <3 favorites and then reset your entire network to factory conditions. This will take 10 minutes while you do other stuff.
- While still powered on, hold down the button underneath your Wifi Pro unit for at least 15 seconds. Your unit is blinking yellow because it can’t connect. Hold the button down until it stops blinking. And then keep it powered on. It should then start blinking white, and then blue. Do this for all your units.
- Follow the instructions in the app, but don’t use the order they’ve suggested if it’s not working for you. Instead of powering the cable modem on FIRST, and THEN the Wifi Pro, it finally worked for me by powering up the Wifi Pro, and then powering up the cable modem. I’ll explain.
- Turn the power off on your cable modem.
- Plug in the Wifi Pro and have the network cable connected into your cable modem. Wait for it pulse blue.
- Do not use the iOS app for Google Home. Use the Android one.
- Turn on bluetooth, wifi, and have your data plan running.
- Add a device in the app. Follow the flow. Just before the Wifi Pro should connect to the Internet … THEN plugin your cable modem. I know. The instructions say don’t do that.
- Wait for all the lights to stabilize on your cable modem. This might take five minutes in some cases. Be patient.
- NOW go back to your app and hit the Connect button to finish the Wifi Pro’s setup.
I really hope this works for you. —JM
