Product doesn’t run the renewal process in the enterprise software world. We indirectly contribute to retention numbers by increasing product usage and feature adoption. PM works directly with CSMs to define usage and adoption metrics we believe represent the desired behaviors we want to track. And then we work together on strategies to drive those metrics. Creating new features or fixing existing features are product changes we can implement to drive those metrics. But we also do things like determine that we need a webinar to help with customer awareness of a new or existing feature that we believe will drive those metrics. So the CSM leader and PM work on a webinar together as recommended by them. Similar activities can trigger interactions with PMM, Social Media, and other Marketing areas.
