Why are they "talent' while we are hiring them, but "resources" once we've got them? #people

This is my favorite thought in a long while.
Our CEO has a disdain for the word “resource” when used to describe people within our company, and I can totally understand why — it dehumanizes the folks we work with. But I was looking for a better word, and now I have it!
It seems so obvious in hindsight. “Talent” is how you enter an org, and it’s what you constantly bring to it. I love it! —JM
