This talk by Christopher Alexander was recommended to me by Jim Scott after the recent 2018 Design in Tech Report went live. It’s v good and was delivered in 1996 to an audience of computer industry folks.
I especially love how he keeps correcting the use of the word “computers” and instead emphasizes “programs.” He also reiterates how it is people who make these programs, and they need to think about the social implications of their work. —JM
